it is another snowy monday here in colorado... good thing the snow doesn't bother me too much, because this winter has been worst than most... i think i am ready for spring to come though... :) anyway, in the mean time, it's fun to look through cutesy blogs for pretty things & inspiration, like i found on this blog,

"happy is a yuppie word."

I have been thinking about the word “happy” lately... & how it really does seem like we are so dependant on circumstances to give us these good feelings... Just yesterday I was thinking about a certain circumstance that I wished would happen in my life, and I even said, “If I had that, then I would be happy...” How bad is that?! Really “happy” simply means to be delighted, pleased, or glad, as over a particular thing. Not over all of life, just something small in life. No one is “happy” all the time. People ask things like, are you a happy person? No, it is not about being a happy person. Happy is not the right word.

In the Bible study I am in, we are learning to really believe that we are who God says we are! & the main point is that God says we are blessed, chosen, adopted, accepted, redeemed, & forgiven. we are Loved. & we are lavished in Grace! There is a quote from a song that I love called, “How He Loves Us” & it says “If His grace is an ocean, we're all sinking...” & that is what life is about. It’s not about being "happy". It’s not about a momentary feeling. True joy is much bigger & deeper than that. We need to realize that true joy in life is not this magical thing that all of a sudden happens because of happy circumstances, BUT INSTEAD it is something that we choose, no matter what the circumstances are, even when things don't always feel so “happy”…
